Dear Parishioners,
I'm sure there are many who need to hear the opening lines from Isaiah in our first reading: "Thus says the LORD: Say to those whose hearts are frightened: Be strong, fear not! Here is your God, he comes with vindication; with divine recompense he comes to save you" (Isaiah 35:4).
Dear Parishioners,
"Keep oneself unstained by the world" (James 1:27).
Dear Parishioners,
This, to me, is one of the most moving scenes in the Gospels. Jesus has given the Bread of Life Discourse. It's off-putting and many leave. Jesus, as people are walking away from him, turns to his apostles and asks them if they wish to leave as well. Peter says they will stay. "To whom shall we go?" (John 6:68), is his response.
